Kenneth, is an emerging South African high jump athlete . He rose to national prominence in April 2026, marking himself as one of the country’s most exciting young talents in athletics. Although Kenneth’s passion for high jump began at the age of 10,his breakthrough came in January 2026 at age 16, when he cleared 2.10m at a school competition. While consistency at that height initially proved challenging, Kenneth maintained dominance in competition, securing gold medals leading up to regional events.
Training under the guidance of Coach Jonathan Greyvenstein, Kenneth transformed adversity into achievement. After overcoming injury and returning from crutches, he produced a remarkable 2.20m jump, earning himself a gold medal, setting a new school record, and becoming the world leading U/18 high jumper for the 2026 season so far.
Kenneth is currently ranked in position 1 in the world with his 2.20m clearance. While official World Athletics U18 top lists worldathletics.org are being updated, this height places him at an outright lead in the U/18 jumpers globally for the 2026 season.
He broke the South African school record for the U/17 age group, further cementing his status as a high jump prodigy.
March 15, 2026: Won the CGA title with a 1.95m jump.
Mid-April 2026: Cleared 2.13m for silver at the ASA National Age-Group Championships.

May 2, 2026 Cleared a massive 2.20m securing him the new school record holder title as well as placing him amongst the top jumpers in his age group in the world.
The 2.15m mark is well above the qualifying standard for the World Athletics Junior Championships in the USA, where he is now expected to be a serious medal contender. Kenneth has his eyes set on the Olympics one day and is well on his way to achieving that goal in the very near future.
Under Coach Jonathan Greyvenstein’s mentorship, his first experience working with a professional coach, Kenneth progressed from injury and crutches to achieving a remarkable 2.20m. This performance not only earned him a gold medal, but also secured a new school record and positioned him as the world leader in the U18 high jump category at the time.
